I am getting an increasing and worrying number of questions regarding the pay rates for apprentices under the age of 21, mainly from apprentices who believe that they are being underpaid by their employers. The Government has today confirmed that it has accepted the recommendations from the Low Pay Commission (LPC) on the new rates for the National Minimum Wage, as referred to in yesterday’s Budget.
