From April 2018 the National Minimum wage for Hairdressing and Beauty Employees.
- The rate for 21-24 year olds in 2018 is £7.38 per hour
- The rate for 18-20 year olds in 2018 is £5.90 per hour
- The rate for 16-17 year olds in 2018 is £4.20 per hour
- The rate for apprentices in 2018 is £3.50 per hour
Please note that the “National Living Wage” for Hair Stylists, Beauty Therapists and all employees in the Hairdressing and Beauty industry aged 25 and over has increased to £7.83 From the 1st of April 2018.
2018 Rate for apprentices aged 19 and over
The national minimum wage for apprentices aged 19 and over is £3.50 per hour in the first year of their apprenticeship only. In the second year of their apprenticeship, apprentices aged 19 and over must be paid the National Minimum Wage for their age.
